"Three people, including two children, died on slick roads in Kentucky and a Louisville Metro Police officer was hit by a skidding vehicle after light snow and sleet fell overnight Monday.
In Meade County, the two children died and their mother was seriously injured when their sport-utility vehicle crossed over the center line on Kentucky 144 near Payneville and crashed head-on into a truck around 7:30 a.m. Monday, Kentucky State Police said. The children, 6-year-old Michael F. Foushee and 2-year-old Adison Foushee, were pronounced dead at the scene. Their mother, Carissa Foushee, 30, was transported to University Hospital in Louisville with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the truck was not seriously hurt.
