On June 21, 2007, Kaitlyn Lasitter, then 13, was riding the Superman Tower of Power ride at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom with friends, when a cable broke seriously injuring her and severing her feet.  Kaitlyn's right foot was reattached by surgeons at Vanderbilt University, but the surgeons were unable to reattach her left foot, requiring Kaitlyn to be fitted with a prosthesis.  She has since had to undergo numerous complicated and painful surgeries.

Kaitlyn's parents hired Larry Franklin, of the law firm Franklin Gray & White to file suit against Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom on behalf of Kaitlyn.  After approximately 1 1/2 years of litigation, numerous depositions, hearings, and complicated discovery issues, Mr. Franklin was able to obtain a settlement for Kaitlyn from the amusement park.  For more information and media coverage, please see the bottom of this page.
